Getting There

Opening Reception: Feb. 1st, 2-5pm

Groveland Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Getting There, an exhibit of new paintings by Joshua Cunningham.

Everywhere I paint, a road has brought me there. Most of my painting days begin prowling the orderly grid of alleys and avenues around my Saint Paul neighborhood. Sometimes, I don't get much further than a block away from home, before a scene invites me to paint it. Other days, I am hours away before I am working. I follow the roads out of town as they stretch and roll out ahead of me like a ribbon, revealing the rhythms of rural and wild places.

This body of work features some of those roads and where they've led me. I don't usually know where I'm headed until I get there. The show will take you through the seasons and along numerous highways and byways. I am looking forward to sharing the show with you at Groveland Gallery next weekend Saturday, February 1st, from 2-5pm

The artist will be present at the opening reception Saturday, February 1 from 2-5 pm. The opening reception and exhibition runs concurrently with Out West by Charles Lyon. Both shows continue through March 7, 2019.
